Every weekend (as of now, for 13 weeks), I plan to visit a place in the Los Angeles County or Orange County area. For about 20 minutes, I write on my personal journal about my emotions, the environment, and where I am in life. Next, I take out my camera to begin shooting. Regardless if I have a person for portraits or not, I will take photos on my surroundings. After that, I write four poems based on the experience: three haikus and one 10+ line poem. I plan to restrain from writing free-verse poems because usually, I impulsively write free-verse, with no structure. This means I will write a different format poem like a sonnet or villanelle. I restrict myself to either using the iambic pentameter or tetrameter. Unless not possible or not required, I will restrict myself to a rhyme-scheme.
The purpose of this blog is for me to share my 13-week journey. I want to show my progression throughout this course as a photographer and writer. Enjoy!
