ABOUT ANDRES
Andres Ramirez (b. 1997) is a photographer, videographer, and writer from Los Angeles, CA. An English and Studio Art major at Biola University, Andres loves the story-telling and meditative aspects of both words and images.
Andres began his interest in poetry and photography when completing a visual analysis project in his sophomore year in high school. He wrote a small poem, based on an image from World War II. While this is the the origin of his appreciation for writing and photography, he thought it was just another assignment, until he entered college. He came to appreciate that the medium could articulate a story with a deep range of emotions; becoming something that could give meaning to the inner-self.
Andres worked as a staff photographer in Biola University's The Chimes News, where he won third place for Best Sports Photograph in the 2020 California College Media Awards. He also was a staff photographer at Thousand Pines Camp in the summer of 2019. Andres has done various freelance work throughout the Greater Los Angeles Area, including weddings, portraits, sports, and events. He also runs his own small business, Level-Y.
